Je suis frappé par le nombre de chansons de variété dans lesquelles on entend des "nappes" de violon. Est-ce que les studios font appel à des violonistes classiques ou est-ce qu'ils ont des synthés qui peuvent faire le travail?

Yvan Cassar dirige des orchestres lors d'enregistrements (goldman par exemple) : grosses prises de sons onéreuses mais efficaces.
peter gabriel ne s'est pas géné dernièrement pour enregistrer avec un orchestre symphonique.

Néanmoins, certaines machines sont aujourd'hui vraiment performantes, et bien souvent suffisantes.

La réponse est relativement simple. Quand j'ai enregistré pour des productions de TF1, des musiques de Téléfilms : toujours, absolument toujours des vraiment sections de cordes. En général des 1er prix de CNSM qui bossent à l'orchestre de Paris ou l'orchestre des Champs-Elysée, etc.

Il n'y a pas de répétition : juste le matériel donné 'partoches' : 1 lecture (en général : parfaite ! Pas une fausse note ! Pas un pet, rien !) pendant ce temps là, on fait le son.
Puis on enregistre directement en accentuant certains traits, certaines variantes, en fonction des souhaits à la fois du compositeur et du producteur voire du réalisateur.

Durée : séance de 8h ou 12h, çà dépend. Studio le meilleur à Paris pour çà et que je connais bien : FERBER. Pour son acoustique et sa vieille table NEVE. Les autres sonnent moins bien pour ce type de prise de son, mais excellent dans d'autres domaines.

Pour les petites "prods" : plug-in VST ou vieilles stations GigaStudio et on fait du MIDI et là des plugs-in il y en a à foison... Vienna Orchestra, Advanced orchestra, la vieille librairie Roland (toujours d'actualité) etc...
çà marche pour les nappes. Après, çà ne trompe jamais un musicien d'orchestre ! problèmes de traits, de Legato et de Vibrato.

C'est impressionnant ce qu'il existe comme matos pour ce genre de choses. Je sais que c'est une de tes passions. Donc, si je comprends bien, si on veut des nappes de violon de qualité, il faut des vrais violonistes. Impressionnant de savoir qu'ils lisent la partition une seule fois et en avant. Ils ne sont pas pros pour rien.

elle voulait parler de la violoniste... ah c'est bien une femme ça !

Quand je l'ai vu à Paris, il y a 1 ou 2 ans je ne sais plus (Grand Rex) elle était déjà là...

Ceci dit Steve Vai était époustouflant ce soir là.

On ne peut pas tricher au violon : celà s'entend tout de suite...

Les grands maitres disent souvent à leurs élèves cette phrase célèbre de ((?) Oeistrack, Stern... je ne sais plus):
"tu joues, ton violon sonne comme tu es... Alors Sois !" Et ils geulent après la tenue d'archet. Le problème c'est toujours la main droite, rarement la main gauche.

Cette violoniste joue malheureusement ce qu'elle est. Je lui souhaite ce qu'on peut lui souhaiter de meilleur...
Et certainement pas de continuer à faire cette soupe.

Je vais voir à Pleyel Hilary Hahn et Julia Fisher cette année (avec Repin et Perlman), là on ne rigole plus !
C'est pas "hamburger" comme dirait l'autre.
